    Sustainable Artful Utility

« The Poetry of Renewal »

In the Studiolo, nothing is wasted. Every offcut of wood, fabric, or metal carries a story worth retelling.
I call this process Artcycling — the transformation of rescued materials into meaningful, living objects.

Materials come from renowned craft houses and ateliers :

Noble offcuts of oak, ash, iroko, walnut, leather, fabric, and metal once destined for exceptional framework, floors, doors, windows, furniture and upholstery. What others see as remnants, I see as beginnings.

Each piece is shaped with patience and purpose, not to imitate the past, but to honour ancestral practices through renewal.

The result is conscious functional art unique collections:

trays, incense holders, altar pieces etc…that bring beauty and intention to daily life.

To create beauty from what was left behind is to practice remembrance.

Artcycling lies at the heart of Néo-Ébénisterie — where heritage and sustainability meet in the poetry of transformation.

    « A Monthly Revival »

I want to invite you into a special part of my world, a quiet corner of my studiolo where stories are given a second life.

Each month, I choose one forgotten creation to welcome into my care. Think of it as a conversation that you and I can join together. We’ll become detectives of a sort, listening for the whisper of its past. We’ll discover the world it was born into, the purpose it once served, and the journey it has taken.

My work, is built on a promise to :

    • Honour the ancestral craft it was born from.
    • Celebrate the heart and hands of its original maker.
    • Show gratitude to the hands that have known it.
    • Consider you, perhaps, the future custodian who will love it next.

Once we truly understand its story, the most beautiful part begins: gently giving it a new breath, so that its journey can continue.

I am so thrilled to begin this with you. The first creation I’ve chosen is full of quiet wonder, and its history is waiting to unfold. Every discovery, every challenge, every delicate touch will be part of the story we uncover.

The story of each revival, with all its secrets and craft, is documented on my Substack. Follow along and witness the art of bringing forgotten beauty back to the light.

« The Art of Rest: A Workshop and Retreat Philosophy »

My practice is rooted in the belief that restoration is a deep form of rest and alignment. When I take a fatigued object and slow down to mend it, I initiate a mindful process that extends far beyond the material.

A Sanctuary Rooted in Northumbria’s History

Your workshop / retreat experience is elevated by its setting in the amazing region of Northumberland. This ancient landscape, historically known as the cradle of Celtic spirituality and a place of monastic retreat, provides a natural foundation for peace and renewal. Here, amidst breathtaking beauty and low-noise tranquillity, the very history of the region supports your journey toward inner stillness.

    Ancestral Knowledge Meets Shared Moment

These workshops and retreats are built upon the foundation of high skills and the careful transmission of ancestral knowledge and time-honored techniques, seamlessly blended with innovative processes. This isn’t just a class; it is an intimate, spiritual journey and a profound connection to the senses.

Wood itself is our oldest medium for grounding. It acts as an invaluable anchor, where the tactile presence of the grain, the scent of the finish, and the focused rhythm of the tools naturally pull your energy back to the present moment, mirroring the quiet focus of this ancient land.

Whether you choose private sessions or work within a small group, the experience is a unique, shared moment that leads to the healing and alignment of the mind, body, and soul. These sessions are healing encounters—a quiet, profound path to presence and renewal.

  • Neb Carnets 🪶

    « Odyssey of a craftwoman »

I want to invite you into the very marrow of this work.

My carnets are not just notes; they are the chronicle of a twenty year odyssey—not a journey to a destination, but into the very soul of the craft itself.

These pages hold the weight of two decades lived in devotion to a disappearing world of knowledge. They hold the ache of failure and the fire of discovery; the sting of the splinter and the quiet, breathtaking solace of a perfect joint. This is the story of calloused hands and a resilient heart, of fighting for a craft when the world told you to let it go.

What this journey has taught me above all else is a profound humility—that this odyssey is never truly over. We are all learning, every day. And with this understanding comes a simple, powerful belief: that to share what we have learned is love in one of its purest and most beautiful forms.

This is why these carnets exist. They are my offering, a quiet act of defiance, a loving effort to preserve the ancestral skills that have, in turn, preserved me.

This sanctuary has a library, and its pages are open. Consider this a warm invitation to step inside and read the story written in the grain.
